Welcome!

My name is Andrea - I love working with dogs and their humans. I graduated with a BSc. (Psychology) from the University of Victoria, and continue to learn and invest in my professional development.  I am an behaviour nerd, equestrian, outdoor enthusiast, and mom.

I have had so many of my own dogs including the very first dogs of my childhood - two coyote crosses and sisters, Maggie and Jessie, and Lola, my German Shepard nanny. The desire to be with dogs (and animals in general) has been the through line of my life. Dogs have been my constant copilot - in the forest on horseback, hiking trails, camping, or travelling to new adventures. And, I have logged literally thousands of hours hiking packs of dogs in the forest. I understand the need to have a deep and reliable connection with our four legged companions.

Training for life for the well being of both ends of the leash is my main objective. I believe addressing causes, not just symptoms, of dogs’ behavioural issues, is the best and most effective way effect to see significant improvement for the long term.

And I believe in training the dog in front of you - a no cookie cutter approach (and a flexible mindset) is the foundation for any effective dog work. Prioritizing making dogs’ lives better and addressing both ends of the leash is the objective is the priority of Yellow Dog.
